The XCSF500C is a high-performance 500W DIN rail power supply designed to deliver reliable 24VDC power for industrial control panels, automation systems, DC motors, and equipment with demanding startup loads. With a continuous 20A output at 24VDC and high peak-current capability, it provides the additional current needed to start loads that can challenge conventional industrial power supplies.

Designed for 120VAC and 230VAC power systems, the XCSF500C combines high output capacity, compact DIN rail mounting, UL508 approval, greater than 92% efficiency, integrated protection, and DC OK monitoring in a rugged industrial aluminum housing.

What Does This Power Supply Do?
The XCSF500C converts 120VAC or 230VAC input power into a regulated 24VDC output capable of continuously supplying up to 20A.

What differentiates the XCSF500C from a conventional 500W power supply is its ability to deliver significantly higher current for short periods when demanding loads require it.

The power supply can provide a 30A overload for more than 5 seconds while maintaining output voltage above 90% of nominal and can provide a short-circuit peak current greater than 50A for 5 seconds under the conditions specified by the manufacturer.

This makes it particularly useful for DC motors and other industrial loads with high startup or inrush current requirements.

Why Use a High Peak-Current Industrial Power Supply?
Not every 24VDC load behaves the same way. PLCs, sensors, and electronic controls typically have relatively predictable current requirements. DC motors, solenoids, contactors, actuators, and other electromechanical loads can require substantially more current during startup or operation.

A conventional power supply may enter current limiting or experience an output voltage drop when these loads start.
