The D-05/RJ45B is an industrial Ethernet surge protection device designed to protect sensitive network equipment from transient overvoltages caused by lightning-induced surges, electrical switching, and other disturbances. Installed inline with an Ethernet connection, the device helps reduce the risk of damage to network switches, PLC communication ports, industrial controllers, and other connected equipment.
Designed for Cat6 / Class E Ethernet applications, the D-05/RJ45B supports Gigabit Ethernet communication up to 1000 Mbps. Its two-stage surge protection design combines gas discharge tube (GDT) technology with transient voltage suppression (TVS) diodes to divert surge energy and limit transient voltages reaching connected electronics.

The D-05/RJ45B is intended for low-voltage Ethernet data circuits with a nominal operating voltage of 5VDC. Prosurge specifies a maximum continuous operating voltage of 6V.
This model should not be selected for PoE, PoE+, or PoE++ circuits without manufacturer confirmation. Prosurge offers the D-48/RJ45-PoE for applications requiring Ethernet surge protection with PoE power transmission.
